The End Of May

The foreground of this garden fantasy was based on sketches of the jumble of "cottage" plants at the front of our old house. The more ordered background is partly fantasy - gardens are never quite that ordered are they? My young son's hand reaches in with a pair of scissors. Is this pruning or mischief?
Engraved by hand on wood and printed on an Albion handpress in an edition of 100. The image measures 7 x 4cm (2.75 x 1.5 inches) with clear margins all round the printed area.
